After 16 years of loyal service with Verizon, I’ve been experiencing a complete loss of service for the past 8 days. The issue began after upgrading from a 10GB data plan to an unlimited plan at the recommendation of a Verizon representative. I was assured the switch would provide the same speeds and service at a lower cost. However, since the change, all three phones on my plan have been plagued with “Verizon No Service” issues, dropped calls, and nonexistent internet access unless connected to Wi-Fi.
The lack of service has created significant problems, including an inability to reliably contact emergency services. During a recent car accident, my phone failed twice when attempting to call 911. My husband, who has the same unlimited plan but on a separate account, has experienced no such issues, highlighting the perplexing nature of the problem.
Troubleshooting this connectivity nightmare has consumed over 11 hours on the phone with Verizon support, including interactions with Tier 3 technical specialists. A support ticket has been filed, and I’ve visited a Verizon store multiple times, resulting in two SIM card replacements. Despite these efforts and multiple phone resets guided by tech support, the problem persists. Even inside the Verizon store, with four bars of signal strength displayed, internet access remained impossible. Store associates admitted they’d never encountered a similar situation.
No one at Verizon has been able to offer an explanation for the service outage or a solution to restore connectivity. I suspect a potential issue with cell tower synchronization with the phones on my plan. Online forums reveal similar complaints about “Verizon no service” problems, but I haven’t found any posts detailing a successful resolution.
