The Office of the Registrar provides official transcripts, detailing your academic history, including courses, grades, GPA, and degrees, directly to you or your designated recipients. Remember that UIUC Self Service pertains specifically to the Urbana-Champaign campus. For transcripts from the University of Illinois Springfield (UIS) or University of Illinois Chicago (UIC), please visit their respective websites: www.uis.edu for UIS and www.uic.edu for UIC. Medical and Nursing records for UIC are also handled by UIC.
Accessing Student Self-Service: UIUC Self Service is readily available for current students and former students who have maintained their NetID login credentials. The Transcript Unit cannot provide login information for former students.

Unofficial Transcripts: Instant Access for Current Students via UIUC Self Service
Current and recent students have immediate access to unofficial transcripts through UIUC Self Service. After logging into Student Self-Service, navigate to Student Services on the myUIconnect page. On the Student Services Dashboard, locate “View Academic History/Unofficial Transcript” under the Records section. From here, you can conveniently print your unofficial transcript to paper or save it as a PDF. UIUC Self Service provides quick and easy access to your academic records whenever you need them.
For former students who no longer have access to Student Self-Service, unofficial paper transcripts are available for in-person pickup only at the Records Service Center. Holding Your Transcript for Grades or Degree Conferral
When ordering, you have the option to request a transcript hold until final grades or your degree for the current semester are officially recorded. This ensures your transcript is complete and up-to-date. However, if you anticipate a grade change, it’s advisable to wait until the change is reflected in Student Self-Service before ordering. The Registrar does not hold transcripts for grade changes or maintenance.
Transcripts held for degree conferral are typically released approximately four weeks after your conferral date. If your degree status in the Academic History section of Student Self-Service shows as “Awarded” and no longer “Pending” before the official release date on the Academic Calendar, you can contact the Transcript Unit at 217-333-9778 to request immediate processing of your transcript order.
Mail-in and Fax Transcript Requests
While UIUC Self Service and Parchment offer the most convenient online ordering methods, mail-in and fax requests are also accepted. You can download the Transcript Order Form, complete it, and mail or fax it to the Records Service Center.
Common Application College Report
If you are transferring to another institution using the Common Application, verify if they require the College Report for transfers. If needed, follow the College Report instructions to prepare and submit the report to the Records Service Center for completion. Please allow up to 4 weeks for processing due to coordination with the Dean of Students Office.
