Featured Dream: A Heartwarming Return to Childhood Roots

One particularly touching example of the Live a Dream program in action is George’s trip to Colorado Springs. Trilogy Health Services facilitated a VIP tour for George back to his childhood home, The Myron Stratton Home. This magnificent historical mansion, a gift from gold rush millionaire Winfield Scott Stratton, was originally donated to support those in need. George spent his formative years on this remarkable property, creating countless happy memories with friends. Today, this cherished home serves as an assisted living facility, and for George, the visit was a powerful and emotional journey back to his roots, made possible by Trilogy Health Services.

Exploring the Types of Dreams with Trilogy Health Services

Trilogy Health Services understands that every individual’s dream is unique. The Live a Dream program is thoughtfully structured to accommodate a wide range of aspirations through two primary categories: Bucket List Dreams and Campus Dreams.

Bucket List Dreams: Fulfilling Lifelong Aspirations

Bucket List Dreams are those lifelong aspirations that residents have yet to achieve and require resources beyond the immediate campus environment to realize. These dreams, often grand in scale, can range from personal adventures to group experiences. The Trilogy Health Services Foundation plays a crucial role in providing financial assistance to make these Bucket List Dreams a reality.

To ensure these grants align with charitable guidelines, the Trilogy Health Services Foundation has established specific criteria. All Live A Dream grants are applied to a qualifying charitable class and must demonstrate financial need. The Foundation can approve Bucket List Dreams that meet the following requirements, with a maximum award amount of $5,000:

  • Residents whose primary payer source is Medicaid are eligible.
  • Private pay residents with end-of-life diagnoses or physical/mental limitations requiring caregiver assistance during the dream experience (such as wheelchair usage or medication administration support) are also eligible.
  • Private pay residents without limitations or end-of-life diagnoses will undergo means-testing to confirm they meet the charitable class definition for grant eligibility.
  • The Foundation sets a maximum grant of $5,000 per dream. Should a resident’s dream exceed this amount, the remaining costs are the responsibility of the resident or their family.
  • Dream applications must be submitted at least 60 days prior to the intended event date to allow sufficient time for approval and logistical planning.
  • The Foundation does not grant dreams that extend beyond four nights, including travel time.
  • Dreams posing a risk to a resident’s overall well-being and safety are not eligible for grants.
  • All Bucket List Dreams must take place within the continental United States.
  • The Foundation typically grants one Bucket List Dream per Trilogy Health Services campus within a calendar year to maximize program reach.
  • All dream applications are subject to approval or denial based on alignment with the Trilogy Foundation’s mission and core values.

Campus Dreams: Enriching Lives Within the Community

Campus Dreams represent another facet of the Live a Dream program, focusing on experiences that can be approved and executed directly by the Trilogy Health Services campus staff. These are typically activities or memory-making opportunities that a resident has either never experienced before or has not been able to enjoy in a long time. Campus Dreams are designed to enrich daily life within the Trilogy Health Services community, bringing joy and new experiences directly to residents in their familiar environment.
