The National Weather Service Seattle office is excited to welcome you for an inside look at our operations! We understand the public’s interest in learning about weather forecasting and our daily work. To ensure a smooth and informative visit for everyone, while maintaining our critical operational duties, we have established the following guidelines for office tours. We are committed to making your visit as engaging and educational as possible.
NWS Seattle Tour Scheduling and Guidelines
To best accommodate visitors, tours are available on Tuesdays and Thursdays each week. Tour times are scheduled between 11 AM and 3 PM, with each tour typically lasting between 30-45 minutes.
To provide a quality experience, we limit tour groups to a maximum of 20 participants. For student groups, please note that there is a minimum age requirement of 3rd grade to ensure all participants can benefit from the tour content.
Please be aware that tours are subject to potential last-minute cancellation due to unforeseen weather events or critical operational needs at the National Weather Service Seattle. While we will endeavor to provide advance notice, cancellations can sometimes occur on the day of the scheduled tour.
For scheduling purposes, please do not request a tour more than 4-6 months in advance. Due to our dynamic schedules and the unpredictable nature of impactful weather events, requests made too far in advance may be overlooked. Scheduling closer to your desired date allows us to better manage our commitments and ensure your tour is properly arranged.
