JCLS provides a vibrant community hub with diverse events catering to various interests. Here’s a glimpse of some upcoming activities:
Bookworms and Film Buffs Rejoice
- Eagle Point Friends of the Library Open Cupboards Book Sale: This sale offers new and gently used books, CDs, and movies. Proceeds support the Eagle Point Library.

- Finding Joy Movie Series: The Bucket List (2007): Enjoy a screening of this heartwarming comedy-drama about two terminally ill men on a road trip. This event is for adults 18+. The movie will be shown in the Large Meeting Room at the Medford Library.

- “No Strings Attached” Book Club: This book club welcomes discussions on various books, from recent releases to old favorites. No assigned reading is required. This event takes place in the Community Meeting Room at the Jacksonville Library. This event is for adults 18 and older.

Creative and Hands-On Activities
- Rogue Reads: Make Your Own Sensory Coaster: Design unique coasters with various textures and colors using cork and other materials. This event is for adults 18+.

- Tissue Paper Stained Glass Candle Holders: Create beautiful candle holders with a stained-glass effect using tissue paper. This activity is suitable for ages 12 and up.

- Winter Origami: Learn the art of origami and fold winter-themed creations. This event is for ages 5+.

Fun for Kids and Families
- Día de peliculas: Enjoy a Spanish-language movie day on the last Thursday of each month. This event, held in the White City Library Meeting Room, includes popcorn and refreshments and is designed for ages 8+. The audio and closed captions will be in Spanish.

- Paws to Read: K9 Reading Buddies: Children can practice reading aloud to trained therapy dogs in a comfortable environment at the Eagle Point Library.

- Tween/Teen Movie Hangout: Tweens and teens can enjoy a movie together at the Ruch Library every 2nd and 4th Thursday.

Rogue Reads: Kanopy Kreature Feature and Popcorn Bar: Watch a classic creature feature film on Kanopy, the library’s streaming service, and enjoy a popcorn bar. This event is for ages 12+. The movie will be shown in the Prospect Library Community Meeting Room.

Dungeons & Dragons 5th Edition: The Greymoor Marches: Join a fantasy-based Dungeons & Dragons campaign at the Central Point Library. This event is for adults 18 and older. Please note that this event is currently fully booked.
