During regular shuttle operation hours (4:30 a.m. to 9:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Monday to Friday), individuals are encouraged to utilize the existing shuttle bus system for transportation within the main campus. Outside these hours, an on-demand service is accessible through the TapRide app, facilitating pick-up by either a shuttle bus or a dedicated escort vehicle.
Off-campus escorts are provided from 8:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m., Monday to Friday, and around the clock on weekends and holidays, within the same geographical boundaries as the on-campus service.

While requests outside the established boundaries and hours may be considered, they require approval from a supervising officer.

For enhanced safety when crossing 39th Street, KU Police strongly recommend utilizing the available skywalks. These provide a secure and convenient alternative to ground-level crosswalks. Access to the hospital skywalk is situated adjacent to A.R. Dykes Library, while the HEB/Orr-Major Skywalk entrance is located on the ground floor of the HEB at the 39th Street entrance.
