Streamline Your Wage Reporting with Business Services Online

Attention employers, CPAs, and wage filers! The Social Security Administration (SSA) is now accepting wage reports for Tax Year 2024. Ensure timely and accurate filing by the deadline: January 31, 2025. Your diligence in accurate wage reporting is crucial for the integrity of Social Security records.

Key Update for 2024 Wage Filers

Wage reports for Tax Year 2024 are officially being accepted. Remember, the deadline to file your Tax Year 2024 wage reports with the Social Security Administration is January 31, 2025. We appreciate your commitment to maintaining the accuracy of wage reporting.

In a recent update, the SSA has resumed accepting electronic wage reports submitted through Zenwork. The SSA and Zenwork are actively collaborating to enhance technical cooperation and strengthen measures against third-party W-2 fraud. This partnership aims to ensure the accuracy of all Form W-2 information processed through Zenwork. Businesses and individuals can now confidently submit wage and tax statements for tax year 2024 via Zenwork. This update effectively supersedes the previous communication sent to Zenwork customers on December 5, 2024.

Important Changes to Business Services Online (BSO) Access

Submitting W-2s to the SSA? There are important changes to Business Services Online (BSO) registration!

For those utilizing Business Services Online to submit W-2s to the SSA, please be aware of a significant change in access procedures. Your previous BSO User ID and password are no longer valid for accessing employer services within BSO. To gain access to the BSO application, you must now use a secure Social Security online account, or Login.gov, or ID.me credentials.

To begin, navigate to the BSO Welcome page. From the “Employers” section, you can either log in using your existing credentials or create a new account if needed.

Enhanced security measures are now mandatory to access the following essential BSO employer services:

  • Wage file uploads
  • Online W-2/W-2C submission
  • AccuWage online tool
  • Social Security Number Verification Service (SSNVS)
  • Access to view wage report name/SSN errors

Access to these services will be restricted without the addition of this extra layer of security to your account.

Please note that the option to sign in using your Social Security username will soon be discontinued. Transitioning to either a Login.gov or ID.me account is required. Users signing in with a Social Security username will be prompted to create a Login.gov account.

We strongly encourage you to sign in and transition your account now. The process is quick and should only take a few minutes. If you already possess a Login.gov or ID.me account, no further action is needed.
