We are currently seeking enthusiastic and reliable individuals to fill two crucial roles: Building Security Supervisor and Building Security Officer for our 2nd shift. Building Security Supervisor – At Your Service to Lead

As a Building Security Supervisor, you will be at your service to lead and mentor a team of Security Officers, ensuring the safety and security of the United Center campus during your shift. Your role is vital in maintaining a secure environment for all team members and guests, contributing directly to the positive experience we strive to provide. You will be the point of contact for your team, guiding them in their duties and ensuring operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervisory Leadership: Directly supervise a team of Security Officers during the 2nd shift, providing guidance and support to ensure effective performance and adherence to security protocols.
  • Proactive Monitoring: Utilize advanced security systems, including alarms and CCTV cameras, to proactively monitor the entire United Center property, identifying and addressing potential security concerns swiftly and efficiently.
  • Comprehensive Patrols: Conduct regular supervisor patrols across all posts during your shift. This ensures all security personnel, both full-time and part-time, are performing their duties effectively and maintaining a high standard of vigilance.
  • Efficient Time Management and Communication: Manage and track team member time and attendance, addressing any related issues promptly. Maintain clear and effective communication with team members and upper management, utilizing shift reports to relay critical information seamlessly.
  • Guest and Team Member Compliance: Ensure all individuals entering and exiting the United Center premises adhere strictly to security procedures, maintaining a safe and secure environment for everyone.
  • Pre-Shift Briefings and Training: Conduct thorough pre-shift briefings to keep your team informed and prepared. Participate in and deliver ongoing training to security personnel as required, enhancing their skills and knowledge.
  • Miscellaneous and Overnight Duties: Handle various assigned tasks to support overall security operations and be prepared to work overnight shifts as needed, demonstrating flexibility and commitment to the role.

Essential Requirements:

  • Educational Foundation: A one-year certificate from a college or technical school is preferred, or possess 3 to 6 months of related experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and practical experience.
  • Technical and Software Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and familiarity with security software programs is essential for efficient operation and reporting.
  • Certifications: Must possess Perc Card Certification, CPR & AED certification, and a valid Driver’s License, demonstrating readiness and qualification for the role.
  • Physical Preparedness: Capable of meeting the physical demands of the position, including standing, walking, and sitting for extended periods, and lifting up to 10 pounds occasionally.
  • Communication and Reasoning Skills: Excellent language skills with the ability to read, interpret, and write effectively. Strong reasoning and problem-solving abilities to handle diverse situations and instructions.

Building Security Officer – At Your Service to Protect

As a Building Security Officer, you are at your service as the first line of defense, ensuring a safe, comfortable, and enjoyable environment for all who visit and work at the United Center. You will be a visible and reassuring presence, dedicated to maintaining order and security throughout the premises during the 2nd shift. Your vigilance and proactive approach are crucial to our commitment to safety.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Proactive Security Presence: Create and maintain a safe and secure environment for guests and employees through active monitoring and visible presence.
  • Advanced Surveillance Monitoring: Monitor CCTV systems, door alarms, and other alarm systems to detect and respond to security incidents promptly and effectively.
  • Hazard and Incident Reporting: Identify and report any unsafe or unpresentable conditions within your work area, ensuring a safe and well-maintained environment.
  • Facility Expertise and Assistance: Possess superior knowledge of facility services and the physical layout of the United Center to assist guests and team members effectively.
  • Guest Service and Resolution: Provide excellent customer service, including promotional item distribution and effective resolution of guest complaints in a professional and courteous manner.
  • Incident Documentation and Policy Enforcement: Document incident reports accurately and enforce facility policies consistently to maintain order and security.
  • Screening and Inspection Procedures: Conduct thorough inspections and screenings of employees, contractors, and media personnel using hand-held and walk-through magnetometers to prevent unauthorized items from entering the facility.
  • Patrol and Post Duties: Perform standing post duties, conduct patrols throughout the facility, and utilize security vehicles for patrols and post assignments as required.

Essential Requirements:

  • Availability and Demeanor: Must have weekend and holiday availability and maintain a positive, outgoing demeanor, able to interact effectively with large groups of people.
  • Communication Proficiency: Excellent verbal communication skills, including the ability to speak, read, and comprehend English fluently.
  • Valid Driver’s License: Must possess a valid Driver’s License, indicating capability for patrol and post duties involving vehicle use.
  • Relevant Experience: Experience in security, military, and/or law enforcement is highly desirable, demonstrating a foundational understanding of security operations.
  • Basic Computer Skills: Basic knowledge of computers and security-related software is beneficial for reporting and monitoring tasks.
  • Physical Capability: Must be able to fully perform the essential physical functions of the job, including standing or walking for the majority of the shift, and occasionally lifting up to 10 pounds.
