Accenture Federal Services Awarded $328M VA Contract to Revolutionize Veteran Home Loans

Accenture Federal Services (AFS), a leading provider of technology solutions to the U.S. federal government, has secured a significant contract worth up to $328 million from the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA). This contract is set to modernize and enhance the technology applications supporting the VA’s Loan Guaranty Service (LGY), ultimately transforming the veteran home loan experience. The multi-year agreement, awarded by the VA’s Office of Information and Technology (OIT) and LGY, spans a base year with the possibility of three additional one-year extensions.

This strategic partnership empowers Accenture Federal Services to consolidate the VA applications managing the entire lifecycle of the LGY program under a unified LGY Product Line. By implementing a comprehensive development, security, and operations (DevSecOps) approach, AFS will ensure the operational efficiency, robust security, and continuous modernization of all LGY systems. This integrated approach aims to provide unparalleled visibility across the program and throughout the value chain, enabling the VA to be more agile and responsive to the evolving needs of veterans, system users, and lenders. The modernization initiative is also designed to capitalize on the dynamic shifts occurring within the mortgage industry, particularly in data collection and utilization.

Accenture Federal Services has a proven track record with the VA, having worked since 2017 on the modernization of the VA Loan Electronic Reporting Interface-Redesign (VALERI-R) system. This critical system is responsible for managing and monitoring millions of VA home loans. VALERI-R leverages advanced analytics to identify potential risks of veteran loan default or foreclosure, enabling the VA and its servicing partners to proactively implement loss mitigation strategies and support veterans in retaining their homes. Under this new contract, Accenture Federal Services will continue to maintain and enhance the VALERI-R platform, ensuring the VA’s ability to leverage data-driven insights for timely and effective decision-making.

The core objective of this contract is to enhance transparency and provide veterans with actionable data insights, empowering them to make informed and low-risk decisions regarding their home loans. Accenture Federal Services will employ human-centered design principles, integrate Mortgage Industry Standards Maintenance Organization (MISMO) datasets, and enhance partner integrations within the LGY product line. These improvements are geared towards automating the delivery of benefits to veterans and streamlining the overall home loan process. Ultimately, the collaboration between Accenture Federal Services and the VA aims to significantly improve both the customer experience for veterans and the end-user experience for VA staff and lending partners involved in the home loan program.
