Streamlined Assistance in One Appointment
To simplify the process, both energy and cooling assistance are managed within a single appointment. There’s no need for multiple visits; we aim to address your energy assistance needs efficiently in one go.
Energy Bill Assistance
Our core Energy Assistance program is designed to help households with various energy bills, including electricity, gas, propane, wood, and oil. Payments are made directly to your energy service providers on your behalf. The level of support provided is determined by factors such as housing type, household income, size, and energy consumption patterns. Beneficiaries of PSE Help are automatically enrolled in PSE’s Bill Discount Rate (BDR) program for ongoing savings.
To qualify for energy assistance, applicants must meet the income guidelines set by LIHEAP (Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program), SHEAP (State Home Energy Assistance Program), and/or PSE Help, and reside within our designated service area in South King County.
Cooling Assistance with Portable AC Units
For cooling assistance, particularly the provision of portable AC units, eligibility is based on meeting the Federal (LIHEAP) income guidelines and residency within our service area. We provide one AC unit per eligible household, and this is a one-time assistance offer. AC units are delivered directly to homes by a third-party vendor.
MSC facilitates the purchase of the portable AC unit to provide relief during hot weather. However, please be aware that MSC is not responsible for delivery, installation, any damages, injuries, or defects associated with the AC unit. Resolving any issues related to the AC unit is the sole responsibility of the customer, and MSC will not be able to provide further assistance in these matters.
