Milwaukee Enrollment Services Relocates to Improve Accessibility

Milwaukee Enrollment Services (MilES) has moved to a new location at 6055 North 64th Street in Milwaukee County as of November 1, 2022. This relocation aims to provide improved access for residents participating in Wisconsin benefit programs such as BadgerCare Plus, FoodShare, and Wisconsin Shares. The new facility boasts free parking, convenient bus line access, and enhanced accessibility with first-floor walk-in services.

Enhanced Accessibility and Services at New MilES Location

The decision to relocate MilES was driven by feedback from Milwaukee County residents and partner organizations. The Wisconsin Department of Health Services (DHS) prioritized finding a location that better served the needs of the community.

Key Features of the New 64th Street Location:

  • Free On-Site Parking: Eliminates parking fees for visitors and staff.
  • Public Transportation Access: Situated on a Milwaukee County Transit System bus route for easy access.
  • Improved Accessibility: Designed with enhanced accessibility features for elderly, blind, or disabled individuals. First-floor services eliminate the need to navigate stairs or elevators.
  • Modernized Technology: Equipped with updated computers, iPads, telephones, and video phones to facilitate self-service options for members.

Continued Service at UMOS and Alternative Options for Accessing Benefits

In addition to the new 64th Street location, MilES continues to offer walk-in services at the United Migrant Opportunity Services (UMOS) location at 2701 South Chase Avenue. Both locations operate under a “no wrong door” policy, ensuring Milwaukee County residents can receive assistance at either site.

Beyond in-person assistance, individuals can manage their benefits or apply for new services through several convenient methods:

  • Online Portal: Access benefits and services online through access.wisconsin.gov.
  • Mobile App: Utilize the MyAccess Wisconsin smartphone app, available for download on Google Play and the Apple App Store.
  • Call Center Support: Contact the MilES Call Center at 1-888-947-6583 for assistance over the phone.

Transitioning to the New Facility

To facilitate a smooth transition, all MilES locations, including the Call Center and the UMOS facility, were closed on October 31, 2022, and reopened at the new 64th Street location on November 1, 2022. While some staff remained at the previous Coggs Center location temporarily during the transition, all services are now consolidated at the new facility and the UMOS location. MilES is committed to ensuring a seamless experience for all members during this transition. Milwaukee Enrollment services strive to offer flexible options for individuals to interact with them, whether through in-person visits, online platforms, or phone support.

Milwaukee Enrollment Services is part of the Wisconsin Department of Health Services Division of Medicaid Services. For further information about MilES and its services, visit the DHS website.
